Not going to get out tonight.
Our sitter's boyfriend is in the ICU with a heart-rate above 200. Looks like they're going to give him something like angioplasty, but they're going to figure out which nerves are misfiring and intentionally kill off part of his heart to have those nerves stop causing problems. Just.... wild. This boy is 17, and he's had quite a scare of it.
Yes, my sitter is also my step-daughter. Good thoughts and prayers are appreciated for her boy.

Date: 2005-10-31 02:56 pm (UTC)And he's 17?
Never mind, never mind, I'm sure it's been discussed a million times already.
Good luck to him even if he is 17.

Date: 2005-10-31 05:07 pm (UTC)He's a bit behind in maturity, so he fits well with Munchkin, who is ahead of herself in many ways. And, they're heavily supervised. He's too short to reach the pedals on his car, so no dates until he gets everything adjusted so he can both see and operate the car, and that may take a while (long enough for us to work out details and issues). And, he's a proponent of 'waiting on the physical stuff', so he has said to Munchkin, his family, and ours.
Even so..... 17!!!! Sheesh.
I let da elf fight that battle.

Date: 2005-11-01 02:02 pm (UTC)Right after I posted that I started thinking about my 23 year old boyfriend when I was 17. The good news: It was all fine and good. The bad news: He's 17 and she's 14. Does he have a job with which to shower her with gifts?

Date: 2005-11-02 03:31 pm (UTC)Da daughter is still upset with him for not having this checked earlier. But, she is happy that he couldn't take his hair goup to the hospital, and thus looked more "normal". Yeah, da munchkin was after a NORMAL boyfriend look.
Must say, he does look better without the spikes, but he's gotta have his own sense of style, and she'll have to learn to accept him for what he is and how he wants to present himself. We'll see if she learns that.
