I was late for work because of traffic fun this morning -- a pulpwood truck and four cars locked up in the middle of the interstate slowed me down about 25 minutes, and when I got around that I watched the end of a six-plus accordion that locked up the last bit of the beltway before the interchange to I-85 north. After making it around that, I discovered....

...well, nobody was able to get on I-85 Northbound so it was an easy drive the last of the way. I had no idea how much traffic ends up on my northern commute from the perimeter.

But, here I am, sick at work, and I'll be doing hardware installation tonight for extra spending money for our budget. Games night is Thursday, and I'll be well by then, so plan on coming. Poll will go up today or tomorrow.

How's by you?

I'm fine.

I'm fine. But....

From The AJC

Man's body found at office park

The body of a man was found at an office park on Breckenridge Boulevard about 8:30 p.m. Monday. Gwinnett police Cpl. Dan Huggins said the man, who appeared to be in his late 20s to early 30s, was discovered outside a building by security guards. The man had been shot but police would not say where or how many times. Huggins also said the man's clothing was disheveled, leading police to believe there may have been a scuffle prior to the shooting.

That's my office campus. It's not the park, but the campus. Right here. Outside. And, I left work early and missed it all. Dunno what was going down here, but I'm glad I was eating leftovers and cleaning up the newspapers in the living room, now.

It's time to try the poll again.....

[Poll #141447]

[livejournal.com profile] pigri has interviewed me with the following questions:
1- can a "faith" really be a universal truth?
No. A faith is a position of belief in what one hopes is a universal truth. Faith itself is the decision to accept the truth without need of proof. In point of fact, however, there is no such thing as proof except experience, and experience is subject to perception, which is an amalgam of other experiences and therefore terribly subjective. Anything you accept without direct experience is faith. Thus, most of our beliefs, grounded in what we hope are facts, are merely faith in other forms. We regard them as facts, though, because given time and materials the experience COULD be achieved. There is no real way to experience the Divine on demand, so it remains faith, but a faith in a universal truth that must be hoped for, seen with patience, and experienced in its own time.

2- how did you chose your children's names?
The girl is named after a family name, a welsh description of her status in the world, and a clan name.
The boy is named for a three saints, one for his home, one for his calling, and one for his mission.

3- what was your very first occupational ambition as a child?
Astronaut, I think. I had lots of books on space travel. That, or a family trade, like teacher, musician, or minister.

4- what is your favorite sound?
Royal to Midnight Blue.

5- do you like to dance?
Yes, and no. I like to dance, but not to be a spectacle. If I'm dancing for the fun of it, that's great. If I am being watched overmuch, I get selfconcious and stop. This is because of events in school dances years ago which still annoy me. I never got past "being on show" and "being laughed at", and the differences therein.

So, having participated in this experience, you may comment here and I will interview you. The method is simple -- I provide questions and you answer in your journal, and responding here with a link to your entry. You then perpetuate the experience by asking others to comment for your own interviews. Who wants to give it a go?
