Just got in.
The Firfey was at 106 degrees tonight, so a hospital visit was in order. Problem is, EVERYONE is getting the flu. Which is, after all that wait, what the doctor determined was her problem. We arrived shortly after 10:00pm, and stayed until 5:30am. The hospital had the entire ER area operational, the clinic in service, and spare rooms in the MRI area going. They were serving 101 people at a time during the peak, so said the accounting clinician. I'm sure the doctors and nurses are placing orders for mixed drinks now. They're amazing for doing all that work, even if it is their calling. It's just phenomenal how well they seem to be holding up under the pressure.
Lots of bratty parents, too. I tried not to be one. I hope I did okay.
Kidlet is now down to 100 degrees, but is VERY upset she's going to miss the class holiday party. I'm upset that I'm still up. Oh, and today is the MaternalParentalUnit's retirement party. Happy retirement, Mom-type-person!
