Long week.....
May. 30th, 2004 06:44 pmWe now begin the long week...
Da elfwife is doing a bit better -- we no longer have to deal with the drains, and instead just have the itching and aches to suffer for a few weeks more. We visit the doc again on Tuesday where she'll bug him about the incision points for the lipo, but I think she's reasonably okay otherwise. She's backed off the painkillers a bit to prevent any issues, there, but is sore as a result. Still, not doing too badly. The bratlings are away at the grands for a week, and we hope this gives us a chance to get elfwife on the positive side of recovery before they start to tire her out overmuch.
We bought a DVD player for the kidlets for downstairs, only to discover DVD companies have eliminated the ability to hook it up to standard coax cable jacks... And, since the TV was 10+ years old... well, we went to the store and bought a nice, but small, TV that can now accomodate the VCR and DVD player. No cable downstairs (no cable anywhere in the house), so they watch specific programming, and it's not a bad gig. And, now the munchkin can take time out when they're away or sleeping to watch her own programs. Which doesn't suck. It even has front jacks, so we may consider a games box with DDR or similar to keep the children having fun.
I've finished setting up my father's day present (the weight bench) and will begin my regimen on Monday. I've got my plan, and everything. So long as I actually wake up... But, the idea now is to start the discipline, not to worry about how well I will do. Something simple (treadmill, lifts, etc) to start, and we'll work up from there. I'm going to get a few extra weights so that da elfwife can start getting her strength back after she's allowed to use the equipment by the doc, but not for a bit. No point in spending money for dust collectors.
I also spend a little on audio today, and am enjoying a little music at my desk. I was tired of the headphone jacks, and this is a good way to point music at myself without making it too much for people around me. Sweet.
If today continues quietly, I expect da elfwife to get into bed shortly, and I'll watch Kill Bill 1 on my laptop. It looks to be an exceptionally slow day, even with work for Oz, because the bulk of the annoyances come from areas that are off tomorrow. I'm loving it, but need to figure out food in a bit. Who's around that wants to eat sushi, or something similar, in the Perimeter mall area?
That's the word from the shores of Lake Wannamowdalawn, where the women are hunched, the men are working, and the children are out of town.
