so?

Yeah, I'm awake. I'm revising a code sample for a take-home test. My brain won't stop working on it, so I'm up.

I'm also thinking about a great many things.

A friend recently told me this was a bad idea. She's probably right.

I wonder if people in downward spirals go the other direction south of the equator....

So....

I thought I had a test Thursday. Turned out to be Tuesday. Rapid studying got me about 70% of the way there, and I faked the rest. I just hope that I faked it the right way. After-test analysis of my answers showed I didn't do badly, but I have small hope for one question as I may have misunderstood the importance/method of how it was to be implemented. Eh, at least I explained my confusion in the answer I gave.

The algorithm I wrote that I thought was to be turned in Tuesday is really a full-blown program that has to be done by Thursday. That's what my brain wouldn't release, and it works as of this morning. Not that I have ANY idea why -- I read over the code and couldn't make sense of it. Typical 2am programming rules, of course, dictate no commentary in the code to explain it. So... well, the prof said he didn't need to see comments, just a working program. I guess I'm done with that.

The dentist yesterday morning was interesting. My mouth pulled an April Fool's prank and detached a crown, so I had it glued back on Monday, and repaired yesterday. The crown apparently had a gap in it, and when it was breached for a root-canal I had done a few years back the gap filled with everything it could find that could cause decay. I also have apparently had an infection for some time, and my gums have had to be trimmed, packed, and lots of material was excised. New crown in a couple of weeks, and I really didn't need that $1000 anyway. I'm hoping insurance makes this all better, or at least less painful.

The non-wallet pain, however, continues. The work on the gums has left me achy, and that makes me irritable. Couple that with little sleep because my brain didn't take the hint when I stabbed it with a q-tip, and I'm just really happy to be here at work, can't you tell. No major projects this week, at least, but I have some big stuff in the works that looks scheduled to coincide with finals and two school projects. Great.

I'm still thinking deep thoughts, and will probably make a post or two about them later. Gotta get them worked out so they don't sound quite so trite and high-school as they do right now. Notepad is my friend.

I think I shall take a book outside and read for lunch, while I am covered in tree bukkake. If the weather holds, at least.

death....

Another head of state died -- and nobody seems to have mentioned it.

Prince Rainier of Monaco passed away last-night/this-morning. Prince Albert will be taking over and I hope they do a big ceremony we can watch. The casino is closed, and flags that were already at half-staff for Pope John Paul II's death will remain that way a bit longer.

So... who will be the next head of state to die? Dare we guess? Dare we hope?

hee!
