Coding on the thesis project is going better -- I'm finally getting my brain wrapped around some of this object design pattern stuff. It's just foreign to me to consider some of these tools, but I also remember when we got the concept of "local scope" in a subroutine, so I'm going to be glad to be done with this project and paper and degree so I can get back to hitting rocks together to make fire....

It's tuesday, so I think lunch shall consist of tater-tots with honey, and probably a protein of some kind.

Sometimes I hate the way I learned history....

Lise Meitner, the first person to understand nuclear fission, and an amazing physicist. Completely unknown to me before now because tradition dictated that the study of science was not for women, and so I had heard of Otto Hahn's discovery without mention of her at all.

History is not written only by the winners, but they sure do a good job of making sure their side gets repeated. ::grump::

Go, read. This scientist was every bit as brilliant as Einstein, and her story lives in obscurity. Go. Remedy that.
