woooooo dinner!
Dec. 31st, 2006 08:32 pmI am so fortunate that I had coupons and gift cards, as da elf and I just dropped the equivalent of $250 on dinner.
We had the five course meal at Melting Pot, which is special for tonight only being NYE and all....
Cheese Fondue Course: Garlic and Herb Cheddar, with Burgundy Chablis
Salad: one each of Classic Caesar Salad and Cherry Blossom Salad, with Big Fire Pinot Noir
Entrée: Maine Lobster Tail, Succulent Black Tiger Shrimp, Cajun Dusted Sea Scallops, and Breast of Chicken (shrimp substituted for the red meat choices), with Flora Springs Cabernet
After Dinner Course: Champagne Sorbet
Chocolate Fondue Dessert: Hazelnut Milk Chocolate Fondue with Renwood Icewine
They gave us a picture of ourselves in a frame (nice, since we didn't get one at the company holiday party this year) and a calendar with coupons, and we made a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
I'm stuffed. And, happy, and really wishing I had more friends around to share it with. Alas, the concept of a cheese course doesn't work so well for some friends, so we'll have to figure something else out. ::waves to those stuck at their job today, and those that are playing with new web cams::
