The impetus for his attempt came from his math and computer science teacher, Linda Gooding. She asked her students to memorize about 40 digits of pi, an infinite number representing the circumference of a circle divided by its diameter.

AIIIIGH! I HATE REPORTERS!

An infinite number?

Well, that sure simplifies things, doesn't it? What is the circumference of a circle? 2πr, of course, but since π is an infinite number, the circumference is infinity! So is the area, and the volumes of spheres and cylinders. I guess that was tick-box E on the SAT, and I just missed those questions.
