I tend to bake my bacon, to drain the fat more effectively, but you can cook the whole mess in the microwave, too! The formula for making RKTs in the microwave is pretty straightforward. Do the bacon in advance, so it has time to cool down, and can be more easily broken into bits.
Yes, but bacon, being very oily, tends not to hold onto chocolate (another fat) very well.
It dips fine, but when it cools, the chocolate just breaks off from the bacon.
I have done embedded bacon, when you break the bacon into small enough parts that the choclate can adhere to itself more than the bacon, wrapping it up in a shell. Or, a fudge, in fact.... ;)
Bacon? Really? Hmmm, if I finally make it out to a Game Night, is there any chance there will be Bacon Krispy Treats there? I keep meaning to come and this might be the motivator I need. ;-)
I make no guarantees about what I cook, experiment with, or set up to play. But, you run the risk of being involved in one of my tests if you DO show up, so....
Sounds like you should post to trashy_eats :-) Amusing that I read this post not long after watching something about a guy that serves chickenfried bacon at his restaurant (covered in cream gravy apparently).
Cool
I'm hoping to make one loaf or so a week.
Re: Cool
Rice Crispy Treats with Bacon
I'll put that one in my back pocket.
Can you do the whole thing in the microwave? I love the microwave.

And when I say "you people" I of course mean just you :)
As a vegetarian I thought that dessert was one of the things that I was truely safe with :(
