Here's a question: Is rape such a horrible crime that the only reasonable punishment, regardless of the cause or the state of the rapist's mind, is barring them from society permanently, be it life in jail or death? Is it possible to rehabilitate a rapist?
Another question: our society has laws against enticements (think: you have to have a fence around a pool, etc). If we are willing to make encitement or enticement illegal, is it improper to extend that idea to provocative dress or action?
My position: Yeah, rape as a violent crime requires removal. I'm still out on what an 'ex-rapist' is. I also think that any law blaming the owner of a property for how OTHER people use it is stupid, be it their body or their pool.
Your thoughts?
