Refurb Deal....

We have a Cuisinart GR-4 Griddler, which we got from Amazon on a refurb deal. They keep selling out, for some reason (see, it's $45 right now, instead of list $180 that you'd pay at LnT or BB&B).

We love having the changeable plates, flexibility to cook inside, and the press capacity means we can cook hamburgers in half the time (I do suggest a probe thermometer so you know when you're done, since you can't see the meat this way!)

If you want one, get 'em while they're hot still in inventory!

Hmmm ponder ponder. I've been planning on buying one of those for nearly a year, but I usually avoid refurb like the plague. I'll have to ponder :-)

A user review on Amazon says that it splatters a lot on the countertop. What's your experience of it? I'm very tempted at the price. I never use my George Foreman because it's a bitch to clean. I've wanted something with removeable plates like this.

It's not been my experience, and I cook lamb-burgers which are high fat. But, I don't overload the grill, either.

Lamb? Where are you getting lamb? C frequently laments not being able to find it around here.

Ground lamb can be had at most Kroger's, which is pretty good stuff since it's made from the chops and shanks they didn't sell the day before....

I can also find it at Publix regularly, and at Harry's pretty much anytime.
