It's soup....

I took a whole chicken, onion, celery, garlic, carrots, salt and pepper, and water to cover...
I have soup. Oh, my.
Da munchkin is making matzoh balls now, and shortly I'll drop them into the broth (siphoned off a full cup of fat!) and cook them up, then add the solids back.
Maybe. I'm currently snacking on them.
Oh, and I made a plate of fried bananas, I think. They seem to be gone already.
elfgirl, where are you hiding, and why do I hear smacking?

You can call me Dwiv, though. It's shorter. Don't I look oppressive?

Hm...I would have thought the twizzlers would have been more stingy than thuddy. Odd.

Date: 2003-03-24 07:38 am (UTC)Here's how you do it:
Get bananas, with a bit of green to them. Cut them into slices (I like to do the circles) about a centimeter thick, and peel them (cut before peeling to make them easier to handle).
Get a pan going with about two tablespoons of butter, melted over medium-high heat. Lay the bananas down into the pan and move them a bit to avoid sticking. Then, let them cook until medium brown on one side. Flip, and let continue to cook. When both sides have a nice crust on them.... take your spatula or fork and **SMUSH** them flat (about 2mm, 1/8", or so). Continue to let cook until the smushed portion takes on a golden cast on both sides. Notice also that this is absorbing a lot of your butter, so add more as necessary.
Remove to drain, and salt. Eat while a little warm, or with ice cream.
For a different flavor, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
